The Queen visits Ireland

"A man was detained by riot police during demonstrations in north Dublin. Queen Elizabeth II began a four day state visit to Ireland, the first state visit by a reigning British monarch since Ireland's independence." (c) NyTimes

The media is awash with coverage of the Queen of England’s visit to Ireland. This photograph by Cathal McNaughton / Rueters made the excellent NYTimes lensblog

  1. Well done to the people of Cork, You have done what we in Dublin wish we Could have done.
Shown the true spirit, warmth and welcome that is so true of the real Irish.
Instead the view of Dublin is one of scumbag morans causing trouble.
I hope this visit by the Queen brings you prosperity and good fortune.
    Good Luck.

  2. Johnny you cannot cast that upon all the Dublin people including yourself by the sounds of it. If you do then you are as moronic as the stupid scumbags that tried to make trouble while the Queen was in Dublin.

Dublin has a bigger population of nearly 1.1million people. Then you have Cork at 480 thousand. Obviously you are going to have a few more moran scumbags that ruin it for all. I as a Dubliner am disgraced to see the minority that acted the way they did but I also wasn’t shocked. Dublin city is a big city, you get trouble in all big cities worldwide.

If Cork didn’t have any of this trouble at all then Yes, fair play and well done but you cannot cast all Dubliners as scumbags; I quote from above “Shown the true spirit, warmth and welcome that is so true of the real Irish.
Instead the view of Dublin is one of scumbag morans causing trouble.”

If you look at a lot of other pictures freely available online and all over Flikr then you will see that of joy and happiness by a lot of Dublin people celebrating the Queens visit.

    Have a nice day,

    Ken
